You could include pictures. Then choose a few of the toys explain what they are in detail and how they will help the child develop.

Get a GCSE book and use that. Actually it was the school that specified I will be teaching Child development as well as textiles. Given half the chance I would teach just textiles but life is always a compromise Thats the book you will need. I sympathise with endymion, as I do think we should NOT be asked or even allowed to teach outwith out areas of training and expertise as is the case in Scotland - and am desperately hoping that I am not asked to do so next year!

Pamela Minnet has a good book for child development. There is also a revision text for this book which has multiple choice questions. I use these as end of topic revision exercises in or for homework.
